What paint do you use?
For my landscape paintings I love to use golden paints, preferably their “open” line. My palette consists of the following colours as a rule, plus additional colours as suits the painting’s mood over an underpainting of Burnt Umber.
yellow ochre, ultramarine blue, burnt umber, titanium white
additional colours: cobalt teal, quinacridone magenta, cadmium yellow medium, ivory black
Did you go to art school?
I studied at the school of Trial & Error and majored in Practicing and Failing. I do not have formal training. Everything is a gift from God!
Do you accept commission work?
I accept commission work on a case-by-case basis. You can always inquire, and if it does not suit my particular style of painting or my stage of life I will let you know. (I have a busy household with four kids at home :) Use the "contact" form to inquire. I will be happy to receive your request!
What are your prices for commission work?
Pricing for commission work is on a case-by-case basis considering the complexity of the piece, the size and the paint needed to produce the piece. An 11x14 landscape starts at $250.00
What’s your favourite painting you’ve done?
I have two paintings in particular that I do not have any intention of selling (which obviously makes them my favourite). "Tiny Leaves" from 2017, and "Tall Ships in graphite" from 2013. Everything else to me is sell-able, though my husband has his own favourites so I tend to wait until he gains a new one in order for me to sell the other.
Where are you located?
I live in the beautiful town of Smithers, B.C., nestled in the Bulkley Valley situated under the majestic Hudson Bay Mountain.
